If you file a complaint about harassment or discrimination, does your school take it seriously (do they act quickly, respond to the situation, and take steps to make sure it doesn't happen again and to improve your school climate or do they brush you off? Do you feel like you can turn to your teachers and school officials when you are harassed or discriminated against?

Does your school have student activist clubs? How much leadership are students allowed to take? Does your school support student activism? What about student activism that relates to LGBT issues?

AB 537 holds schools legally accountable for preventing and responding to anti-LGBT harassment and discrimination. Has your school taken steps to prevent anti-LGBT harassment and discrimination? Are teachers and administrators aware of AB 537 and their new responsibilities? In general, does your school welcome this new law, or is it reluctant to make the necessary changes?
