On July 17, GSA clubs across Northern California will walk together as part of one big and (clearly) fabulous GSA Network Team. Are you interested in being a part of the AIDS awareness action? GREAT!
You are enthusiastically invited to form an AIDS Walk Team with your GSA club! AIDS Walk San Francisco is a fun and proactive way for you and your LGBTQA peers to make a positive impact in the Bay Area community. Come walk with your friends and family amongst other GSA Network teams and 25,000 other dedicated individuals to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and raise money for prevention and advocacy focused initiatives.
Forming a team to participate in AIDS Walk is a great way to increase positive public visibility for your school’s GSA, connect with other GSAs in the Bay Area, and keep your GSA together over the summer to continue your efforts year round. By participating, you'll advance GSA activism and show your communities that AIDS activism and awareness is an important part of our movement.
This year, GSA Network is happy to commemorate with AIDS Walk San Francisco 25 years of lifesaving progress and heartfelt strides. Since 1987, AIDS Walk San Francisco has raised nearly $74 million for San Francisco AIDS Foundation and other HIV/AIDS programs and services in the six Bay Area counties. Your support will help the Foundation prevent new HIV infections and promote health among those living with HIV.
Anyone can participate in a team of two or more people. There are no fundraising minimums, but your fundraising efforts great or small will ultimately benefit those living with HIV/AIDS. Once you sign up, you will receive updates from AIDS Walk and information on where to meet up on the day of the event to walk with all of the NorCal GSAs!
