Make It Better Project Action Alert

In response to the tragic suicides by LGBT youth in recent weeks, GSA Network launched the Make It Better Project.  We are excited to tell you about the project and all the ways you can get involved to combat bullying and make schools safer for LGBT youth right now.

The Make It Better Project

Following the deaths of several LGBT teens who were bullied at school, columnist Dan Savage launched "It Gets Better," a video campaign to tell LGBT youth that life gets better after high school.

The Make It Better Project takes this one step further, giving youth the tools they need to make schools better now!  50 LGBT and Ally organizations have endorsed the project!  See below for the growing list!

Through the website and YouTube channel, youth and adults can work together to make schools safer for LGBT youth right now.

You can Make It Better Now.  Here’s How -

1. Make a video!

Tell the world what you are doing to fight homophobia and transphobia in schools!  Please read the video instructions first.  Then make your video and upload it to YouTube.  Email the link to video@makeitbetterproject.org and we will add your video to the Make It Better Project on YouTube.

2. Organize an event!

Join the Make It Better Week of Action.  Find or register an event.  Thanks to the grassroots activists and organizations all over the country who are planning 29+ events to bring attention to the issue of youth suicide and anti-LGBT bullying AND what we can do to Make It Better.

3. Call Congress!

October 12th is the National Day of Action to call Congress in support of the Safe Schools Improvement Act and the Student Non-Discrimination Act.  Read the Action Alert, make your calls, and spread the word.

4. Join the Make It Better Project

Visit our website to learn how you can Make It Better.  Follow the project on Twitter and Facebook.

We aren't waiting until high school is over for our lives to get better...
We are taking action now!  Join us!  Spread the word!
