Greetings GSA Network and Welcome to 2026!
We are so glad you are here. You made it through another year. In 2025, we accomplished a lot together as a national network and stuck together when TQ2S youth continued to be attacked. May your winter season bring you closer to community as we hold these relationships as the foundation for the resistance to come this year. We remember the lessons learned and our mandate made clear by our GATHER, SUPPORT, ACT framework; these will be the seeds we use to fortify us and our people.
We didn’t expect 2026 to begin with our government attacking another country, making a greedy play to control their oil and kidnapping a Venezuelan democratically elected President, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores. The US government will not stop at Venezuela and has hinted at occupying other countries like Mexico, Colombia, Iran, Cuba, and Greenland. The world will not sustain an empire. When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere," he is speaking about the shared consequences of war and injustice on this planet.
MLK knew it was “Beyond Vietnam” when he condemned the Vietnam War and drew parallels between US imperialism at home and abroad. This war is beyond Venezuela; this is another attempt to assert world dominance, extract natural resources for the lowest cost, and further Venezuelan oppression under the guise of spreading democracy while divesting from education and social services at home. Contact your member of Congress and demand an end to U.S. attacks on Venezuela—and a redirection of public funds from war to healthcare, housing, and education.
As the U.S. regime intimidates its way into Black and brown counties abroad, it's also ramping up on violence, surveillance here at home. The US government continues to utilize immigration and customs enforcement (ICE) as a lawless agency, separate families and inflict violence on protestors, legal observers and students. GSAs have always been about building community and enabling each other to exist and belong. We extend love to our comrades in Minneapolis as they defend their communities. As communities grieve through action, we remember those who died or are currently languishing in detention and those who died at the hands of ICE. The demand has always been clear: abolish ICE! Rest in Power - Renee Nicole Good, Keith Porter and so, so many more.

Across the country, almost 900 GSA clubs registered with the network this Fall 2025 semester. That’s nearly one thousand campuses working to create a liberated future for trans, queer, and Two Spirit youth in schools and community spaces!
Our National Association of GSA Networks was sustained with 28 local organization partners from 27 states, collaborating online and in person at youth organizing gatherings, conferences, and events. Shoutout to Intransitive for hosting our National Gathering ‘25 this summer!
GSA youth leaders are at the forefront of 3 different legal battles, spanning from gender-affirming healthcare (with the Skrmetti case) to the presence of clubs in Texas (regarding S.B. 12) to trans youth in sports (in the BPJ and Hecox case).
Star Freedom School shared 5 curriculum resources unpacking global solidarity, campaign tactics, campaign sustainability, along with hosting 5 Star Freedom School Pop Ups in Denver, Albuquerque, Brooklyn, Little Rock, and Nashville.
Our Youth Freedom Fund resourced 44 project grants to GSA clubs across 25 states, like Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, and Arizona, for youth leaders to organize their own TQ2S+ affirming community events.
New year, same mandate. We come into 2026 standing on business for TQ2S+ youth! As you get adjusted to a new semester and reconnect with your friends and clubs, we want to remind of tools to help your GSAs GATHER SUPPORT AND ACT 4 JUSTICE
