Our WOrk

What we do in the next few years will determine what our schools look like for the
next generation

That's why we're building the people power to transform our education system classroom by classroom, school by school, district by district until every TQ2S+ young person can learn, organize, and thrive.

TQ2S+ youth face escalating attacks on our identities, our bodies, and our futures. STAR Freedom School provides the political education, community care, and organizing tools we need to build power.

The Gender Justice Leadership Programs (GJLP) are youth-led programs for trans and gender nonconforming young people to build public understanding, empathy, and a movement for liberation through storytelling and media organizing.

Psa: What’s a GSA?

Genders & Sexualities Alliances (GSAs) are youth-led clubs that unite TQ2S+ and allied youth to build community, support one another, and organize for change.

Originating as Gay-Straight Alliances in the late 1980s, GSAs now serve as safe spaces in schools and communities (including alternative schools, home school collectives, LGBTQ+ centers, youth organizations) and as platforms for racial and gender justice.

We're organizing thousands of TQ2S+ youth and their allies across the country to build GSA clubs that…

  • Gather

Break isolation by transforming schools and communities into places where TQ2S youth can show up fully and shift the culture by being together.

  • Support

Fight for the material conditions of TQ2S+ youth in schools and communities to make for a more just life for all. Share resources. Engage in mutual aid. Practice caregiving.

  • Act

Make change through political education, field organizing and direct action. Build power by organizing with one another.
