STAR Freedom Schoool
STAR Freedom School is a national initiative developed by GSA Network to meet the urgent need for justice-centered educational spaces for trans, queer, and Two-Spirit (TQ2S+) youth. Grounded in the four guiding pillars of Devising Freedom—Homecoming, Truthtelling, Spiritsustaining, and Stargayzing—STAR Freedom School provides Black, Brown, Indigenous, and rural TQ2S+ youth with the tools, networks, and political education needed to thrive amid escalating social and legislative attacks.
In the face of rising anti-LGBTQ+ policies and isolation in traditional educational settings, STAR Freedom School creates transformative spaces for learning, community, and power-building. It builds on the long legacy of TQ2S+ youth organizing while innovating new strategies to meet today’s realities, offering a national hub for advocacy, care, creativity, and resistance.
